Windproof sweaters for men in timeless design and long-lasting quality

We created our first windproof collection more than twenty years ago, and it still follows the original concept that took shape on the west coast of Sweden in 1999. Timeless knitted sweaters and jackets with our own windproof lining and water-repellent details. Designed to follow the shifts of nature rather than fleeting fashion trends. The concept of slow fashion is close to our hearts and represents a mindful approach to clothing and design. Several of our windproof sweaters and jackets for men have been part of our collection since the beginning – true slow fashion.

Windproof sweaters and jackets for men in wool and cotton

Our windproof sweaters and jackets for men are crafted from natural materials such as wool and cotton. This means that they do not need to be washed often, which extends the life of the garment. The collection includes both windproof sweaters for men and windproof jackets for men.

Holebrook windproof – knitted sweaters with functionality

One of the reasons so many people love our windproof sweaters and jackets is the combination of a classic knitted sweater and the smart, elastic windproof lining. An extra inner layer prevents wind and cold from reaching your body. Enjoy a summer evening outdoors or a walk without compromising on style – one of the reasons our windproof sweaters are so appreciated.

Windproof sweaters without chemicals

The windproof function requires no chemicals. Instead, the fabric is woven with a special technique that creates a very dense structure, making it windproof. The composition is 96% polyester and 4% elastane. The elastane makes the fabric breathable and elastic. In other words, it blocks the wind but not your movement. Our water-repellent fabrics (Piumi and Holmer) are treated to achieve their water-repellent function. This treatment is ecological and free from fluorocarbons, which are commonly used to make fabrics water-repellent. The fabrics are certified by ÖKO-tex® Standard 100, one of the world’s most recognised and independent certifications for textiles. It ensures that the fabric is free from harmful substances. Both Piumi and Holmer are breathable.

How to extend the life of your windproof sweater

How do I care for my knitted windproof sweater?

Looking after your knitted windproof sweater properly can extend its lifespan by several years – something we truly value. Here are some useful tips to make sure you can enjoy your windproof sweater for many years to come.

Care instructions for windproof wool sweaters

Wool fibres are self-cleaning. They have natural antibacterial and odour-resistant properties, which means washing is rarely needed. Simply airing or steaming the garment is often enough. If stained, remove the stain as soon as possible. If washing is necessary, always follow the garment’s care instructions. Wash in cold water, preferably on a wool programme, and use detergent designed for wool.

Why does my windproof wool sweater pill?

Pilling is both common and natural in wool sweaters. It occurs when the shortest fibres in the yarn reach the surface. The pills are easily removed with a wool comb. Place the garment on a flat surface and use downward strokes to remove them. Repeat as necessary.

How should I wash my knitted windproof sweater?

Washing your knitted windproof sweater correctly is important to keep it in good condition for many years. For wool sweaters, airing and spot-cleaning are usually enough. If you do need to wash your windproof sweater, keep this in mind:

1. Always check the care label first. Following the care instructions is essential to avoid damaging the sweater. Many of our cotton windproof sweaters can be washed at 40°C.

2. Wash using a mild detergent, preferably one adapted for the material. Wash by hand or on a handwash/wool programme in the machine. Keep a close eye on the temperature and never wash too hot. Use a laundry bag to protect the garment. Do not use bleach or fabric softener, as they may damage the fibres and affect the fit.

3. After washing, do not wring the sweater. Instead, lay it flat on a towel, roll it up to remove excess water, and then let it dry flat on a clean surface.

4. If ironing is needed, use a steam iron on low heat. Place a towel between the iron and the sweater to protect the wool fibres.

How should I store my knitted windproof sweater?

Store your sweater in a dry and airy environment when not in use. Avoid hanging it on a hanger – always fold it. Do not store in a plastic bag or in direct sunlight. Wool sweaters are susceptible to moths, so make sure the garment is clean and dry before storing. Use cedarwood balls together with your sweater or jacket for added protection.
