INTERVIEW

Bella Porcile

Bella Porcile, author and cocktail creator, invites us into her creative world, speaking openly about the freedom that fuels her work — and what it takes to rediscover inspiration when it is lost.

Her work is inseparable from who she is. Always searching, always learning. Flavours. Plants. “What can I create with this?” is always close to heart and shapes everything she does. With roots in Italy and Denmark, Bella has always lived between cultures.

After years in London, travel became central to her life. For the past decade, Mexico has been her favourite destination – a place where she collaborates with friends on recipes that often centre around mezcal and tequila.

“Seeing new places gives me energy. That thrill when you travel somewhere new and don’t know what’s ahead. It’s magical.“

Working creatively also means knowing when to stop. Bella talks openly about what happens when inspiration runs dry – and the importance of stepping away to find it again.

“I’ve always been energetic, but eventually you hit a wall. When creativity’s gone, I have to fight to get it back. It’s a bit like that now, and that’s probably because of the season. I need to travel, to reset. And I need to be around people who give energy, not take it.”

Thanks for letting us share your perspectives, Bella.

OUR STORY

We were born on the Swedish west coast, where the ever-changing weather of the Kattegat is a constant presence. For more than twenty years, the wind, the sea, and the shifting seasons have remained our source of inspiration in the creation of our knitwear.
