During the autumn of 2025, we had the privilege of collaborating with Beckmans College of Design — a meeting point where real-world practice meets free creativity. As part of the Fashion Collaboration course, two design students were invited to interpret our brand and products. The result is two personal collections that both reflect and challenge our expression. While the collections differ in form and narrative, they share the same foundation. Both are rooted in knitwear craftsmanship, function, and a close relationship with nature and the sea — values that have always been central to us.

The sea as inspiration –
Otto Bäccman

In Otto’s collection, our connection to the sea is explored in a new way. Drawing inspiration from life along the Swedish coastline, he created a playful whole where classic garments are given new proportions and graphic expressions. Knitting techniques and details reflect coastal culture and everyday life by the sea.

“Working with a company that shares my values and my relationship with nature has been both rewarding and empowering. Like Holebrook, nature has always been central to my creative work. In the urban environment I live in today, there is a strong longing for the free and the natural — something I believe many can relate to,” Otto Bäccman.

Scandinavian heritage in a contemporary context –
Hanna Rothstein

Hanna’s collection, Kristina, takes its starting point in our Scandinavian heritage and the philosophy Mind in open air. Inspired by Vilhelm Moberg’s The Emigrants, she places the novel’s main character in a contemporary setting where nature, the sea and urban life coexist. The collection brings together traditional craftsmanship — such as hand-knitted cable patterns — with functional materials and garments designed for movement. The choice of materials reflects both craftsmanship and responsibility.

“I primarily worked with Swedish wool, silk and cotton, as well as repurposed yarns from Holebrook. Scandinavian heritage and the connection to nature and the sea have also been an important starting point. I see the collection as romantic and playful, but with a distinct sharpness and a strong focus on tactile qualities,”

A collaboration supporting the future of swedish design

Our collaboration with Beckmans College of Design is a way for us at Holebrook to support the next generation of designers, while at the same time exploring how function and knitwear craftsmanship can be developed and interpreted in a contemporary context.

“We are truly impressed by the students’ creativity and dedication. It has been a unique opportunity to let our brand meet new perspectives. These are two distinct interpretations that both went straight to our hearts,” Pia Gustafsson, Head of Design, Holebrook.

The collections were presented on February 3 in Stockholm during two exclusive shows as part of Stockholm Fashion Week Trade. Holebrook was one of five Swedish brands participating in the collaboration.
