Alpaca
The alpaca is a camelid native to the Andes. The wool fibre is incredibly soft and warm, with silky fibres that can grow up to twenty centimetres long. The wool is durable and non-itching, but less elastic than sheep's wool. Alpaca comes in 22 natural colours, but the lighter shades are often dyed to the desired colour. In our collections we use alpaca wool blended with extra fine merino wool and polyamide.
The yarn is RWS (Responsible Wool Standard) certified. The RWS is a certification that guarantees the welfare of the animals, that the wool is handled correctly throughout the production process and that the pastures are used in a sustainable way.
