Holebrook is a Swedish brand. Knitting and sustainability are two of our core values, and our ambition to minimise environmental impact has been a cornerstone since we were founded in 1999. Our sustainable philosophy rests on three pillars: sustainable materials, slow fashion and responsible production. These three aspects form the foundation and run through everything we do.

Knitted sweaters in sustainable materials

Our down-to-earth approach to sustainability is based on wool, cotton, mohair and alpaca. We create knitted sweaters from natural materials that do not need to be washed frequently, which extends the lifespan of the garment while reducing its environmental impact.

Knitted windproof sweaters in sustainable materials without chemicals

Holebrook was born on the Swedish west coast. From the very beginning, our journey started small and modestly, yet our direction was clear from the start. We shaped our position on the market, and our well-knitted sweaters with windproof lining soon proved to be a welcome innovation for everyone spending time along the windswept coast of Bohuslän. Even today, our windproof sweaters are loved by many. Our own windproof lining consists of 96% polyester and 4% elastane. The elastane makes the fabric breathable and flexible. In other words, it stops the wind but not your movement. To achieve the windproof function in our sweaters, no chemicals are needed. Instead, the fabric is produced using a special weaving technique that creates an exceptionally dense structure, which makes it windproof.

Slow fashion is an approach to fashion that emphasises reflection and awareness – values we strongly identify with. For us, this means designing timeless garments that do not follow fast-moving trends. It also means that our collections always include styles that remain relevant and wearable over several seasons.

All our garments are produced in Europe

Through decades of close collaboration with our suppliers, we have built a strong shared commitment to quality and sustainability. And in this, we do not compromise. If a certain material or specific production technique is not available within Europe, we adapt our designs accordingly. All our garments are made in Europe by suppliers who share our vision of sustainability and ensure good working conditions. All our yarn, fabric and detail suppliers are environmentally certified. We carefully handpick them based on our high standards for sustainable production and lasting quality.
