COTTON

Cotton is a material we use in many of our garments. It is both renewable and naturally biodegradable. Cotton has been one of the main fibres used in textile manufacturing for thousands of years and has many benefits. It is soft, durable, breathable and has cooling properties by absorbing moisture. Cotton is also good for sensitive skin as it is non-allergenic.

ORGANIC COTTON –
LESS ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT

At Holebrook, we set high standards for sustainability, quality and environmental impact when choosing yarn and materials. That is why we choose organic cotton instead of conventional cotton whenever possible. Here are the reasons:

  • Organic cotton means that it is grown and manufactured completely without chemical pesticides, artificial fertilizers or genetically modified seeds (GMOs) that affect biodiversity.

  • For the cotton to be classified as organic, the soil it has been grown on must also have been free of chemicals for at least three years and crop rotation must be applied. This means a more complicated cultivation process that promotes biodiversity, but also makes organic cotton more expensive than non-organic cotton.

  • Organic cotton is known and loved for its beneficial properties: it is hypoallergenic and breathable. It is also durable, which means that the garments have a long lifespan.

OUR COTTON GARMENTS

We use cotton yarn to knit garments with exciting textures and patterns. We can also dye the yarn in a fully organic process to match other materials in our collections.

OUR STORY

We were born on the Swedish west coast, where the ever-changing weather of the Kattegat is a constant presence. For more than twenty years, the wind, the sea, and the shifting seasons have remained our source of inspiration in the creation of our knitwear. Knitting is more than a tradition to us - it is our craft and our passion. We don’t chase trends. Instead, we believe in a future built on slow, thoughtful fashion. Our ambition is to create garments that are truly valued and worn for decades. All our garments are produced in Europe and are available across 13 markets worldwide -bringing Scandinavian craftsmanship and enduring design to our customers around the globe.
